DC Universe #0 was, of course, DC 's big event book of the week. The fact that the book—which was divided into sections promoting the big events coming this summer for Superman & the Legion of Super-Heroes, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern and more—was not DC's Free Comic Book Day selection boggles the mind, but a fifty-cent price tag still left it to sell out all over the country.
Grant Morrison and Geoff Johns are a recipe for certified awesome, and this book delivers on that. The apparent return of Barry Allen, having died during the Crisis on Infinite Earths back in 1985, sweetens the deal. Whether Allen's return is permanent remains to be seen (readers of Johns's run on The Flash will know that he was always meant to come back one more time to help out at a critical juncture in history), but having him around during the upcoming Final Crisis will be a nice thematic endcap to the trilogy.
